for Cambodian Librarians
The
"Workshop on Conservation and Preservation of Library Materials
for Cambodian Librarians" was held on May 7-9, 2002 at The
Center for Khmer Studies at Siem Reap, Cambodia. The three-day workshop
focused on preventive conservation of library materials, and simple
repair methods. It also broader management issues. Theoretical and
practical aspects of conservation of library materials were given
equal consideration during the workshop. 14 librarians from Siem
Reap and Phnom Penh attended the workshop to get the theoretical
and practical knowledge essential for identifying the causes of
deterioration and for selecting the most appropriate methods of
conservation and restoration of library materials. The workshop
was conducted by Chiraporn Aranyanark, consultant to the Siam Society
under Royal Patronage, with support from The Rockefeller Foundation
