Third
International Sculpture Symposium
The
Third International Sculpture Symposium was organized by the Ministry
of Culture and Information, Thua Thien Hue People Committee, the
Hue College of Arts and other local partners on April and May 2002
as part of the Hue Festival, with funding support from the Ford
Foundation and the Rockefeller Foundation. The event, entitled "Impressions
of Hue" brought together 24 artists from 15 countries, including
Greater Mekong countries, and 10 artists from Vietnam in the ancient
city of Hue. Their sculptures have become part of a new sculpture
park on the banks of the Huong River. Here, an arbitrary sample
of few sculpture is provided to illustrate the differences in working
styles and aesthetical models. A book with the complete set of sculptures'
images is expected to be published in November of 2002.
