The upgrading of agricultural technical and vocational colleges is a primary focus of the government of Lao PDR. Since June 2002, Rajamangala Institute of Technology (RIT), Kalasin Campus, in northeast Thailand has received grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to conduct series of short-term training initiatives in education management, teaching capacity and technical skills development for selected faculty and administrators of Lao PDR. In addition, scholarships have been provided for bachelor’s degree study for selected staff of six Laotian agricultural technical colleges and vocational schools.
