Mekong
Media Fellowship Experiment
The
“Mekong Media Fellowship Experiment” (MMFE) project
is a cross-cultural research project being conducted by Probe Media
Foundation, Inc. to test the feasibility of a developmental video
production-training program for Asians that is appropriate for enhancing
regional capacity in socially responsible journalism, and promoting
collaboration across borders. Ten Mekong nationals and two from
the Philippines have been selected for the training to produce in-depth
features and video reporting on relevant regional issues related
to socio-economic development and good governance. In the training,
particular attention is being devoted to investigative and emphatic
journalism, communication for social change, and ethical issues
related to reporting.
