During
7-10 November 2003, The Northern Regional Center on Geo-Informatics
and Space Technology Development (NRC-GISTD) received financial
support from the Rockefeller Foundation to conduct a workshop on
Potential Geo-Information Users Groups (PGUG). The workshop expected
outcomes and benefits aim to set up the PGUG-Networks in the GMS
and identify the possibility to generate collaborative work in developing
the Geo-Information spatial database using Remote Sensing and GIS
Techniques as a tool. The workshop intends to find the Potential
and Approach on the extension and application of the Geo-information
database to support the planning or decision making process. For
examples, overview of Socio-economic situation of the different
development area in different GMS-countries, identify the different
high risks/problems/ conflicted area in the GMS.
