More than 75 % of the land area in Lao PDR is mountainous. With the newly establishment of an outreach campus in the mountainous province of Loung Prabang, the National University of Laos’ Faculty of Agriculture intends to develop a relevant training curriculum on upland agriculture. This new curriculum is being developed through the visits of teaching staff to relevant universities in the Mekong region, synthesizing of experiences in upland agricultural research and development in Lao PDR and a brain- storming workshop.
